Welcome to the Ocarina of Time Item Randomizer (OoTR)!

The OoT Randomizer is a fan modification created by AmazingAmpharos in 2018. It takes the original The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the N64 and randomizes the locations of the items for a more dynamic play experience. Since its initial release, the randomizer has been developed further by the community with lead developers ShadowShine57 and Cuphat, TestRunner and Zannick, the latest version 7.1 was released in late 2022.

Proper logic is used to ensure every seed is possible to complete without the use of glitches and will be safe from the possibility of softlocks with any possible usage of keys in dungeons.

The entire project is open-source, and you can find the latest version on GitHub.

Want to play yourself?

  • OoT Randomizer provides generation of games (so called "seeds") through a web generator and offline.
  • This allows for the generation of an OoT Randomizer "seed" to play on a supported platform. You will need to provide the required files for generation yourself.
  • The video below will showcase the generation process.
