Changes coming to ZSR!

Firstly, The Forums.

This has probably been asked the most over anything else regarding ZSR. The Forums will be kept closed to new posts and threads and communication will switch over to Discord. But everything that has been posted in the past will be kept intact that has been posted there already and be used as an archive.

Secondly, Game Moderation.

Another issue that has come to our attention is the hierarchy structure on ZSR. People have had issues (due to a variety of circumstances) in the past when asking for moderation and/or edits for the sites’ games. We are addressing this head on with an entirely different roles concept.

-Site Staff / Site Admins: Users who work on the site and all of it’s content. They have overall permissions for site wide access.

- Global Moderators: (These will be hand selected members of the community by the admins.)

Users who oversee moderation and editors for all the sites games. They choose new super mods for individual games and decide on the roleset that the lower "tier" roles get. These users can also ban users from the site.

- Super Moderators: Users who have individual games access, they can edit anything regarding the games they moderate, including new categories, new regions and leaderboard traits as well as everything regarding the wiki on the site (for their respective game). They can also add new moderators to their individual game.

- Moderators: Users who have individual games access, they can edit anything regarding the games they moderate, this includes new categories, new regions and traits as well as everything regarding the wiki on the site (for their respective game).

- User Normal members of the site who can interact with the site and it's content. They can submit times to the leaderboards and browse the content database of ZSR.

Individual Games Forums

This is just an idea, and a neat idea to boot. These "forums" would be posted directly on individual games "front pages" (see here for example) These forums would be monitored and moderated by the games moderators.

We are also aware of the few functionalities that the site has errors with, this includes "password resetting" and "preview" on games pages, as well as a few other issues. These are things we also will be fixing in the next couple of months.

If you have any ideas you would like to throw out to us regarding the new roles that are coming and or any other site changes, please don't hesitate to let us know in the ZeldaSpeedRuns Discord Server
