Storage

Map/Inventory Storage discovered by InAMuffinCup

Description

Map/Menu storage happens when the player has an instance of the map or the inventory opened while the game still plays normally. This can be achieved in a number of ways; this doc will only explain one that is deemed the easiest and most efficient way. The goal is to have a text box opened while being in a void-out area so that we can quickly open the map or inventory during the void-out. The most common way of doing this is to use a Signboard near a void-out area of the Eternal Forest.

signboard

How To

  1. Scout the area to get an idea of where the void-out area is.
  2. Echo a Signboard next to the void-out area limit.
  3. Target the Signboard with ZL, and press A as you walk towards the void-out area.
  4. If done correctly, you should have the Signboard text box active as well as the screen partially covered with fog on the corners. If you failed, retry steps 2 and 3. This is half of the trick.
  5. The goal is to cancel the text box and quickly open the Echo menu during the void-out. To do so, the best method is usually to hold L and mash D-pad right as you exit the text box. If done correctly, the Echo menu should be opened (as long as you hold either L or D-pad right).
  6. As the Echo menu is still present, press - to open the map or + to open the inventory. You can then let go of L for basic Map/Inventory storage, which is a state that is both paused and unpaused. You know you succeeded if the mini-map is present while in the map/inventory, or if you can move Zelda with the map/inventory opened. This document will only focus on Wrong Warp, but know that there are many other applications of this glitch. If you failed, retry steps 2 to 5.

Notes

  • Pressing B, R, - or + usually cancels the glitch. You can hold L before doing those to not lose it.
  • You can still interact with most objects in the world. Enemies can damage you (and kill you!), objects still block your path, and you can also Echo objects/enemies.
  • You can warp during Map/Menu storage as long as you are holding L during the whole thing.
  • You will not be able to see a lot of things during Map/Menu storage, but you can open and close the map to “refresh” the screen to have an idea of what is going on. The mini-map can also help you.
