Rocket Launch
Rocket Launch is a special type of stasis launch where Link grabs onto a large object instead of getting hit. This will allow Link to travel a decent amount of vertical or horizontal distance while not taking damage or having the need to use the Paraglider, because of this, they are often a great method of travelling during the Great Plateau. Rocket Launches are still used, though rarely, after obtaining the Paraglider.
With a long tree for horizontal distance
- Hit the tree once with your weapon.
- Start charging a spin and when you hit the tree, cancel the animation with B.
- Wait a second or enough time so the tree has the desired angle and quickly stasis it.
- Face the tree in the opposite way and start spinning to quickly build momentum.
- When you build maximum momentum, cancel the spin animation with B.
- Use an arrow to angle the tree on the desired direction.
- Step back and jump onto the tree, keep holding upwards until Link hold onto the tree.
- Wait until stasis wears off.
If the tree just falls off normally instead of launching away it means the tree was stasis'd too early.
With a long tree for vertical distance
- Hit the tree once with your weapon.
- Start charging a spin and when you hit the tree, cancel the animation with B.
- Wait around a second to stasis the tree.
- Face the tree in the opposite way and start spinning to quickly build momentum.
- When you build maximum momentum, cancel the spin animation with B.
- Crouch and quickly shoot an arrow as high as you can on the tree.
- Step back and jump onto the tree, keep holding upwards until Link hold onto the tree.
- Wait until stasis wears off.
- You can let go early if necessary with B.
Note: Some weapons need only one hit to completely cut a tree, in the case of the Woodcutters Axe, it needs two hits.
The rocket launch shown on the video is a very specific one to reach Zora's Domain early. It's a bit more precise than other rocket launches.
With a smaller tree
The method for these types of tree is the same for large ones. It can be difficult to grab onto the tree from the tree, so it's recommended to do it from the side instead.
With a big boulder
It is recommended to grab the side of the boulder because Link often falls off quickly after launching if grabbed from the backside.
