Restricted Items Glitch

In Ocarina of Time 3D, there is an exclusive glitch called Restricted Items (or RI for short) that allows you to use almost any item that can be placed on the X and Y buttons in areas where they are normally restricted (or greyed-out).

To perform it, you must have a second item that can be used freely.

1. If you don't have an unrestricted item equipped, take one out and close the item menu screen.
2. Open the item menu and equip a restricted item over the unrestricted one.
3. Close the item menu and press the button you just equipped on the first possible frame before the the game resumes. It helps to either pause buffer with the home button, or mash very rapidly.

Notes

The restricted item can only be used for 1 frame, so items like the Bottle, Megaton Hammer, and Bow are instantly put away after they're drawn.

This trick is useful for Bottle Adventure as it allows you to steal the rod.

One of the most useful items to use for this glitch is Farore's Wind. with this you can warp to any area in the game. It is also very useful for Restricted Items Wrong Warps

Using Farore's Wind to warp to an area with a timer will cause the timer to never start.
