Any% (Beginner) (BD)
Information:
This is an updated version of the Wii Any% Beginner Route. It should work on all Wii versions of the game, including NTSC 1.2 and the KOR Wii versions. While still serving as a beginner-friendly route for the game, there is one important difference between this route and its predecessor: it entirely removes Helmasaur LJA from the list of required tricks, replacing it with duplicating the lent bomb bag.
Note that most GCN & Wii tricks/glitches linked in this route are done on GameCube and therefore are mirrored on the Wii version. In addition, there are several more advanced strategies which are not mentioned in some places but instead linked in the notes below the route.
Major tricks:
Also included but not as major:
Runs should start with a blank file in slots 1, 2, and 3, as multiple files are used during the run.

Notes
Ordon
In Ordon when you get more advanced, you can utilize Sword and Shield Skip to skip obtaining the Ordon Shield and Ordon Sword. This is a fair bit harder but saves a few minutes in this route. It is, however, a trick you will want to learn, as the faster Any% route requires it.
Grove 1
If you forget to save for EBF, it's not run over. It's actually slightly faster to forgo EBF for this route and get water bombs, but this introduces a trick known as moonboots.
- Detailed route WIP
- For now, follow this section here (barring the Midna Dive if not 1.0)
Getting to Lakebed
When going to Lakebed, stealing the Lent Bomb Bag itemless is an option as well, but this is slower by a fair amount since it requires you to get the Goron Bomb Bag afterwards. (Detailed route WIP)
- Steal bag itemless
- If you prefer, bottle theft is also an option
- Go to Lakebed and get Ooccoo
- Empty lent bag and get WB
- Ooccoo out and get Goron Bag in ZD
- Go back to Lakebed and finish the dungeon
- Continue route per usual
Arbiter's Grounds
For Arbiter's Grounds: If you're interested in doing Poe 1 Skip, you may:
- Pull Chain
- Small Key
- Enter Right Room
- Poe #1 Skip
- Cross Sand + Push Block
- Pull Chain for Chandelier
- Stalfos with Bombs
- Poe #4
- Poe Scent
- Back to Main Room
- Pull Chain + Enter B1 Door
- SK Chest
- Redead (55R)
- Poe #2
- Main Room
- Climb Broken Stairs to 2F
- Get red rupee chest if <75R (75R)
- Rat Room Backwards (Skip SK)
- Poe #3 Room Backwards (95R)
- Poe #3
- Back to Main Room
- Through Poe Gate
- Continue on as normal from here return to route
Mirror Chamber
Much later in the run, after Arbiter's Grounds, once you open the portal in the Mirror Chamber, you can simply warp to Snowpeak Mountain and head to Snowpeak Ruins. You can skip raising the mirror by opening the map, zooming in, then enabling portals; you will have to do this for the rest of the run if you do so now.
Snowpeak Ruins
- Refer to the primary route section here
- If you are not comfortable with spinner bomb boost you can go to 2F (about 60s slower than spinner boost).
- Grab the small key in the courtyard
- Do bomb boost to 2F
- Head to the ice floor room
- Through the locked door, to double freezards in the next room.
- Freezard Clip on 2F
- Go through the door, and then drop on the other side of the courtyard.
- If you prefer not to do bomb boosts in any capacity, then do the following to get the pumpkin:
- After digging to courtyard, open the small key chest
- Go to locked door on 1F and defeat the freezards
- Go to next room and defeat double Chilfos
- Ordon Pumpkin
- Go back and talk to Yeto
- Talk to Yeta (unlocks access to East courtyard)
- Proceed to other side of courtyard and continue with route as written
- If you so feel inclined, after getting to the other side of the courtyard, there is also Freezard Clip 1F
to skip firing the cannon.
City in the Sky
- Refer to the primary route section here
- If you fail Argorok Cutscene Skip (bridge), don't forget to skip the Fan Activation trigger again after the Double Clawshots savewarp.
- Aeralfos Skip is an option you can do as well, but it's fairly tricky on Wii.
- If you failed Fan Activation Skip, you will have to go through the second half of the dungeon normally. From the small key room:
- Clawshot around a lot
- Crystal Switch snipe
- Reach the other door in the room
- Next room:
- Defeat the baba head (ignore the base)
- Clawshot up the tower
- If a pillar falls and you fall below it, you will have to reload the room.
- Out in the gardens
- Cross the peahats over and then back to the door not near a chest
- Clawshot across to the center of the dungeon from there via peahats
- You're in the 3rd floor room mentioned above now.
