Ocarina Dive

Ocarina dive is a trick which causes link to pull out the ocarina while falling down through the air. The glitch is very useful as it can be used in tricks and techniques such as Captain's Hat early and Song Storage.
How To
There are four main methods to ocarina dive, different ones work on different versions so you should check which version you're playing before you attempt this trick.
Method 1
Works on Japanese 1.0 Only
- Perform a Hover into the air
- Pull out the Ocarina by pressing the ocarina button
Method 2
Works on every version
- Perform a Hover into the air
- Hold any direction on the analog stick
- Mash the Ocarina button
Method 3
Works on all English versions
Zora method works on JP 1.1
- Align slightly to the left of the ledge you want to dive off
- On the edge of the ledge, do a regualar sword slash by pressing B
- Near the end of the sword slash, press the Ocarina button
Alternatively, you could use Zora Link's second slash in his regular combo.
Method 4
Works on all versions besides Japanese 1.0
- Align towards the ledge you want to dive off
- On the edge of the ledge, hold Z, hold right and press B to do a horizontal slash.
- Near the end of the sword slash, press the Ocarina button
Uses
Ocarina dive can be used to open chests surrounded by flames as there is a frame when coming out of the ocarina stance where the chest may be opened. An example of this is Captain's Hat early.
The most common use for Ocarina dive is to perform a technique called Song Storage.
