Boss Mechanics

Volvagia fight has 2 Volvagia actors present during the fight. 1 actor for the flying phases and 1 for when he comes out of the lavapit and can be stunned with the Megaton Hammer.

It is possible to damage the flying Volvagia actor while the ground phase is active by dropping bombs or exploding bombchus on the lavapit Volvagia last flew into. At the beginning of the fight Volvagia will always fly into the same pit, making the 1st bombable pit always the same. This pit will only change if a flight phase happens and Volvagia flies into a different pit.

Volvagia has 12 health, and each hit apart from jumpslash hit when he is stunned does 1 damage. The jumpslash while Volvagia is stunned does 2 damage instead.

By using bombs or chus, it is possible to 1 cycle Volvagia without him flying at all.

1 Cycle

1. Store a Hammer jumpslash triggering the fight.
2. As soon as the fight begins, drop a bomb on the lower left part of the closest lavapit.
3. Stun Volvagia as he comes out and drop 3 more bombs onto the same lavapit.
4. Stun Volvagia again and drop 3 more bombs, after Volvagia pops up again Stun and hit him for the kill.

Notes:

1. The 2nd and 3rd bombs (1st and 2nd of the bombs after the first stun) should be spaced out, pull out the next bomb as the previous explodes. If the bombs are used too fast, Volvagia will trigger his flight phase.
2. If Volvagia is about to spawn on the same hole you need to drop bombs on, move Link towards the center of the arena so Volvagia is facing that way and stun him. This allows you to still drop bombs on the hole without hitting the stunned Volvagia.

2 Cycle:

1. Store a Hammer jumpslash triggering the fight.
2. As soon as the fight begins, drop a bomb on the lower left part of the closest lavapit.
3. Stun Volvagia as he appears and drop 4 more bombs into the same lavapit, the bombs can be pulled right after one other.
4. Stun and damage the stunned Volvagia when he appears again and wait out the flight phase. You can hit him or go hang from the arena edge to make him submerge faster.
5. Stun and kill Volvagia as he appears after the flight phase.

1 Cycle with Bombchus and Deku Nuts

1. Store a Hammer jumpslash triggering the fight.
2. As soon as the fight begins, align Link so he is facing the lavapit closest to him and shielddrop a Bombchu.
3. Use a Deku Nut shortly after to cause the Bombchu to explode on the hole, damaging Volvagia.
4. Repeat this action for a total of 9 times, which is enough to 1 cycle Volvagia.
5. Stun and kill Volvagia when he appears on one of the lavapits.

1 Cycle with Bad Spawn

• If Volvagia spawns near the pit you are exploding Bombchus on, stab him to stun him and continue using Bombchus.
• The stun counts as 1 hit, so adjust how many Bombchus you use accordingly.
