With so many different and hidden factors affecting wrong warps, it can be difficult to figure out what works and what doesn't. So, here's a list of some commonly used wrong warps. All successful wrong warps will award you the proper stone or medallion.
Important Note: Depending on the scene being wrong warped to, a wrong warp can crash or softlock based on the following:
A list of all scenes that are or are not affected by the last cutscene can be found here.
Below is a general list of guidelines for what does or doesn't count as a cutscene.
What counts:
What doesn't:
These are all the places that can be wrong warped to from dungeons without farore's wind. It is rare to have farore's wind in most categories, so some of these are more likely to be viable.
Deku Tree (cutscene 1)
Dodongo's Cavern (cutscene 1)
Fire Temple (cutscene 3)
Jabu Jabu's Belly (cutscene 0)
It's possible to warp to the Inside the Tower Collapse area by opening the door back to the main dungeon on a particular frame on the blue warp timer. To be able to even reach the door back to the main dungeon, you must reload the boss room after defeating Gohma.
The disadvantage to simply savewarping is that you will lose the deku tree intro cutscene as your last cutscene. See the Previous Cutscene Notes below for more info.
Once you can reach the door, perform the "Ocarina Items" glitch on the very edge of the blue warp, then enter the door at the correct time to be warped into the Tower Collapse scene. A video will be put here eventually showing some common setups. For now, just check out the forums.
Wrong Warps to Tower Collapse are affected by the cutscene pointer.
Previous Cutscene Notes:
These are the two most common setups for child Ganondoor:
Adult Ganondoor:
It's possible to wrong warp to Dodongo's Cavern by dying. Have the proper position to place a bomb, roll, and backflip into the blue warp at the correct timing. Given the correct timing, low enough health, and waiting for your camera to snap back to you, press B to stop the ocarina and die. Once you continue you should be in Dodongo's Cavern. A video will be put here eventually showing some common setups. For now, just check out the forums.
Previous Cutscene Notes:
It's possible to warp to the Shadow Temple's Boss Room by getting trade item with a timer (eyeball frog for example), duplicating over it and letting the timer expire.
Previous Cutscene Notes:
Dodongo's Cavern has two common wrong warps.
Notice: attempting to warp to the above locations may result in a crash or soft-lock depending on what the cutscene pointer is pointed at. To avoid this, the last cutscene watched should be one of the following. Be aware that bombing the wall that opens Dodongo's Cavern will update the cutscene pointer (and count as your last cutscene).
Have no more than half a heart, a bottled fish, and explosives. First, get in position next to the blue warp in such a way that you can place a bomb or drop a bombchu and then catch a fish. Once the fish is caught you must backflip onto the edge of the blue warp and perform the "Ocarina Items" glitch with the correct timing. Once the camera stops spinning you cancel the ocarina and then die. After continuing you should be in Gerudo's Training Grounds. To return to Dodongo's Cavern you must die and continue. Falling in the lava in the silver rupee room can result in warping to the infinite void back at Dodongo's Cavern.
This wrong warp can be performed by allowing a trade timer to expire while the blue warp tries to start the cutscene.
Note: By performing the death wrong warp on this deku blue warp after performing the wrong warp from Dodongo's Cavern to Deku Tree Boss room, one is able to wrong warp to Gerudo Training Grounds.
The Fire Temple has three useful wrong warps without Farore's wind.
Notice: attempting the warp to the above places can result in a soft-lock or crash depending on what the cutscene pointer is pointed at. This can be avoided by having the previous cutscene be either the title screen, or a warp song.
Wrong warping to the Forest Temple is achieved by dying on a particular frame. This can be achieved a number of ways.
The most common setups start with "ocarina items" glitch into the blue warp after killing volvagia. This is followed by running in a direction (with our without a delay of some sort) off the platform, which stops the blue warp from updating the timer which pulls you to the next cutscene. An adjustment is done upon hitting the ground. All that is left is to die from the heat timer or the lava in the floor.
On death the camera rotates, allowing the blue warp continue updating the timer and eventually resulting in a wrong warp when the game continues. Examples of the common setups are shown below.
Using the eyeball frog timer, you can wrong warp to Lon Lon Ranch, directly into to the credit sequence if the timer expires when the cutscene should start.
By entering the boss door loading zone at the correct time after performing ocarina items on the blue warp, one can wrong warp to the Ganon's Tower collapse map. This trick is commonly known as "1080" because the commonly used setup requires the use of a 1080 degree turn to enter the boss door loading zone.
