Any% (BiTE) (ELH)

This new revision of the Wii Any% route is several (estimated 10+) minutes faster than the old Any% route. It is not RTA-friendly, but it is RTA-feasible. Epona Seam Clip and Gorge Void makes a very brutal beginning and the majority of the tricks are forced with no backups or route-arounds.

This version of the route has been modified from its predecessor to implement Empty Lake Hylia and Bomb Duping.

Runs should start with a blank file in slots 1, 2, and 3 as multiple files are used during the run.

Route intended for Wii 1.0

Kakariko Bell Silver Rupee Route

If you prefer getting the silver rupee in Kakariko as opposed to getting the 2 orange rupees in Snowpeak Ruins, you can opt for this strat. Here is a comparison explicitly showing the differences, which shows that getting the silver is marginally (1.3s) slower. Note that this involves using a bomb, which means it loses additional time (1.5s) due to having to forgo using a bomb as noted below.

Bomb management

Ideally, bombs will be acquired and spent as follows in this route:

  • 30 normal bombs after emptying Lake Hylia
    • 1 entering Lakebed
    • 5 on stalactites
    • 24 wasted
  • 10 water bombs after clawshot
    • 1 Morpheel (required for route)
    • 1 Snowpeak Ruins bomb boost (required for route)
    • 1 Darkhammer (saves 2s over fight without bomb)
    • 2 triple stalfos before Death Sword (saves 6.5s over ball & chain strat)
    • 1 Mirror Chamber portal (saves 1.5s over fight without bomb)
    • 2 Zant (required for route)
    • 1 Hyrule barrier 1 (saves 5s over fight without bomb)
    • 1 Hyrule dynalfos (saves 4.5s over fight without bomb)

The three relevant bomb backup chests post-Morpheel are:

  • AG stalfos room after poe 1 skip: 5 bombs (+7.5s; water bombs if you have at least 1 WB in bomb bag, regular bombs otherwise)
  • AG epic spinner room: 10 bombs (+10s; water bombs if you have at least 1 WB in bomb bag, regular bombs otherwise)
  • City entrance underwater: 15 bombs (+21s; always water bombs)

However, since most Morpheel fights use more than 1 bomb, and the Snowpeak Ruins bomb boost won't always be done first try, it's useful to plan bomb usage based on the number remaining after the Snowpeak Ruins bomb boost. Note that the timelosses estimated below do not include the time lost to Morpheel, nor from failing the bomb boost, and it does not consider chandelier skip in Arbiters (which is difficult and barely saves time). This video compares bomb and bombless strats as well as getting bombs vs. not getting them for these scenarios. This video showcases the Darkhammer bomb strat on Wii, which saves more time on Wii due to not having to do an extra equip and not being able to chain spins.

Best course of action based on number of water bombs remaining after the Snowpeak Ruins bomb boost (SPR Oranges route):

  • 8+ bombs: all bomb strats, as listed above
  • 7 bombs: skip Mirror Chamber bomb strat (+1.5s)
  • 6 bombs: skip Mirror Chamber AND Darkhammer bomb strats (+3.5s)
  • 5, 4, or 3 bombs: get AG 5 bomb chest in room after poe 1 skip and do all bomb strats (+7.5s)
  • 2 bombs: skip Mirror Chamber bomb strat and get AG 5 bomb chest (+9s)
  • 1 bomb: skip Mirror Chamber AND Darkhammer bomb strats and get AG 5 bomb chest (+11s)
  • 0 bombs: skip Darkhammer bomb strat, get AG 5 bomb chest (normal bombs) and City underwater 15 bomb chest (water bombs) (+30.5s)

Best course of action based on number of water bombs remaining after the Snowpeak Ruins bomb boost (Kakariko Silver route):

  • 9+ bombs: all bomb strats, as listed above (not normally possible unless extra water bombs were previously collected)
  • 8 bombs: skip Mirror Chamber bomb strat (+1.5s)
  • 7 bombs: skip Mirror Chamber AND Darkhammer bomb strats (+3.5s)
  • 6, 5, or 4 bombs: get AG 5 bomb chest in room after poe 1 skip and do all bomb strats (+7.5s)
  • 3 bombs: skip Mirror Chamber bomb strat and get AG 5 bomb chest (+9s)
  • 2 bombs: skip Mirror Chamber AND Darkhammer bomb strats and get AG 5 bomb chest (+11s)
  • 1 bomb: skip Darkhammer bomb strats and get AG 10 bomb chest (+12s)
  • 0 bombs: skip Darkhammer bomb strat, get AG 5 bomb chest (normal bombs) and City underwater 15 bomb chest (water bombs) (+30.5s)

  • Staircase Room
    • Down stairs, around, pull south lever
    • Up stairs and pull right lever
    • Down stairs and enter hallway
  • Enter Single Cog 1F Room
  • SK Chest
  • Backtrack to Center Room
  • Locked door on 2F
  • Boomerang + Bomb Stalactite (bomb bag should be empty now)
  • Get 5WB from the small chest
  • Cross Vines to Door
  • Head to Deku Toad on Wii
    • Hang, Drop + JS to Land On Platform To Door (Semi-Precise)
  • Bomb Boost to Early Deku Toad
    • Blow up rock with water bomb
    • Kill chus
    • Open chest
    • Place a bomb, get on top, and perform a JA on the seventh red flash
    • Example

Arbiter's Grounds before Snowpeak

You may also do Snowpeak Ruins after Arbiter's Grounds (slightly slower), if you prefer spinner bomb boost, which is generally considered to be easier.

  • Same route up through Midna's Desperate Hour
  • Warp Lake Hylia and get Auru's memo
  • Desert with boars
    • [Strat video?]
    • Use boar to get into bulblin camp
  • Map Glitch to KB3
  • King Bulblin 3
  • Arbiter’s Grounds but no B&C (use bombs instead)
  • Mirror Chamber
  • Warp Zora's Domain
  • Map glitch
  • Snowpeak ascent and snowboarding
  • Snowpeak Ruins but with spinner bomb boost
  • Ball & Chain
  • Get both orange rupees (or don't, and get the silver in Kakariko using a bomb)
  • Warp Kakariko Village
